Privacy

This site is deliberately small. There are no advertising trackers, no analytics suites and no third-party cookies. Two things do collect information, and they are described in full below.

Visit counter

When you open a page, the site sends one anonymous ping so I know the site is being viewed. It records:

• a random visitor number generated in your browser and kept in its local storage;
• the time of the visit;
• an approximate city and country, resolved at the network edge by the hosting platform.

Your IP address is not stored. It is used momentarily by the hosting platform to work out the approximate city, and never written to the record. Repeat visits within a short window are not counted again. Clearing your browser's site data removes the visitor number, and the next visit starts fresh.

Contact form

If you send a message, the name, email address and message you type are submitted through Netlify, which hosts this site and processes form submissions on my behalf. They are emailed to me and stored so I can keep track of enquiries. If you have previously visited the site, the name you enter may be associated with your visitor number so an enquiry and its visits can be recognised together.

Details are used only to reply to you and manage the work that follows. They are never sold or used for advertising.
